ABOUT DYER DESIGN GLASSWORKS

Built Around Atmosphere, Light & Architectural Presence

We treat glass as structure, not surface. Every illuminated piece is shaped to hold space, carry light, and create a presence that commands quietly, designed around the environment itself rather than applied to it.

Built as a one of one alternative to imported sintered glass and illuminated stone, every piece is designed and fabricated entirely in Florida and backed by a Certificate of Authenticity.

We work with interior designers, architects, custom home builders, and homeowners creating one of a kind spaces across South Florida.

Dyer Design Glassworks was founded by Christopher Dyer, who came to glass from a background in precision architectural film and surface work. The goal was to build something that outshines imported sintered glass and illuminated stone, designed and made entirely in Florida. Every piece is one of one, created for a single space and backed by a Certificate of Authenticity.

QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked

Is every piece fully custom?

Yes. Every installation is designed and fabricated for your specific space, dimensions, lighting, and finish. We never reproduce work, and each piece is one of one, backed by a Certificate of Authenticity.

What does a commissioned piece cost?

Each commission is priced to the work itself: the scale, the glass, the integrated lighting, the complexity, and the installation. Pricing is defined during a consultation, once the space and the vision are understood.

How long does a commission take from start to installation?

Timelines depend on scale and complexity. A commission typically moves from concept and design through fabrication to installation over several weeks, and the schedule is confirmed at the start so it can be coordinated with a build or renovation.

What areas do you serve?

We work throughout South Florida, including Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach.

What kinds of spaces do you work in?

Luxury residences and waterfront penthouses, along with hospitality and commercial interiors such as restaurants, lounges, lobbies, and branded environments.

How does the lighting work, and is it built to last?

Our installations use integrated RGBW and LED systems engineered for depth, atmosphere, and controlled illumination across the piece, specified for the setting and built to perform as a permanent architectural feature.

Do you install the work, or coordinate with our contractor?

Both. We install directly and routinely coordinate with the project's contractor, electrician, and design team so the piece integrates cleanly into the architecture.

Can you match a specific palette, material, or design direction?

Yes. Each piece is developed to the design intent of the space, working to a specified palette and material context so the finished work belongs to the room rather than sitting apart from it.

How is the glass cleaned and maintained?

The surfaces are finished for everyday living and clean with standard, non-abrasive care. Guidance is provided on delivery, and we remain available for any question about the piece over its life.

Can you create automotive or themed artwork?

Yes. We create automotive-inspired and custom-themed illuminated glass artwork for collectors and statement spaces.

Can we see the work in person?

Yes. The studio sits in Fort Lauderdale's Thrive District, an immersive space where you can see illuminated glass at full scale and in real light. Designers, architects, builders, and clients are welcome by appointment.

How is a commissioned piece different from ordering custom glass from a glass shop?

A glass shop fabricates a product to a measurement. We design an original work, conceived for the space, finished as art, and illuminated to perform, delivered as one of one with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Do your pieces include documentation of authenticity?

Every piece is delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity, confirming it as a one of one original work from the studio.

How do I get started?

Reach out through the contact section below or call the studio directly. We will talk through your space, direction, and goals, then map out the design.
